Antenatal & Parent-Craft Classes
If you are pregnant and need to register with the Practice Community Midwives please contact 01302 642 711 or 01302 642 794.
The Practice Midwives will give advice on where the Ante-Natal and Parent-Craft classes are held. Patients have their delivery in Doncaster Royal Infirmary under Midwifery Led Care or Consultant of their choice, but there are also other alternative arrangements that can be made in consultation with the Midwives.
Childhood Immunisation Clinics are held at the Armthorpe Surgery where 2 nurses and a GP are available during these clinics. You will receive an appointment from the Child Health department. The Health Visitors can be contacted by telephoning 01302 566 999. A Health Visitor is a qualified nurse with additional training, specialising in child development. Please contact the Health Visitor to find out where your local clinics are.
All family planning services are available at both surgery sites. Please contact reception to discuss your requirements so they can book you in with the most appropriate healthcare professional.
Minor Surgery Clinics
Minor surgery is available at both surgery sites. The Doctors will assess each individual patient on whether minor surgery procedures are advisable. Any necessary appointments will be arranged.
Joint Injection Clinics
Joint injection clinics are available at both surgery sites, please contact reception to make an appointment with the most appropriate healthcare professional.
Cryosurgery services are available at both surgery sites, please contact reception to make an appointment with the most appropriate healthcare professional.
Health Promotion Clinics
The Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants are responsible for most health promotion clinics held at both surgery sites e.g. Asthma, Blood Pressure/Hypertension, Well Person Checks, Diabetes and Coronary Heart Disease clinics etc. All patients should be reviewed on a regular basis i.e. every 12 - 36 months. Some patients will need to be seen on a more regular basis, and you will be contacted by the practice if you fall in to this category for the appointment to be arranged.
We also carry out Oral Glucose Tolerance Tests, H-pylori breath test, 24 hour blood pressure monitoring and ECG monitoring.
Arrangements can be made for patients to be seen at home if they are unable to come to the surgery because they are permanently or temporarily housebound. Please contact reception to discuss your requirements.
Minor Illness Clinics
Our nursing team are experienced in managing minor illnesses. The receptionist will ask you some questions about your symptoms to ensure that you see the most appropriate health care professional in a timely manner.
